Ventue for this workout was Miramar Lake.  32 miles on the bike, gently rolling but curvy route.  Averaged 17.5 mph and completed the bike in under 2 hours.  Put the bike away and transitioned to a run. Basically so that coach can see if he needs to adjust our training paces and if we have significantly increased our speed.  I am not one of the faster runners and my time was 2 miles in 17:53, about 30 seconds faster than my 1 mile pace.    I felt pretty good after the run, it is definitely getting easier. A long ride, goal was 32 miles. The coach recommended we run this race to get an idea of our performance. Had the pleasure of going up Torrey Pines again, and though I was able to do it faster than previous attempts, I still find it difficult.After completing the bike we were supposed to do a 3 mile run. Three laps (outer loop) around fiesta Island for the LA Tri Team, six loops for the Vineman team and we are supposed to do the loops as fast as we can.  Each loop is just over 4.1 miles.One loop warmup and I was third to go. The ride felt good, though there was about a 10 mph headwind for most of the ride. Same ride as last week and I felt good until it was time to tackle the Torrey Pines hill. I also worked on my cadence (strokes per minute) trying to get up to the 95-105 that the coach recommends. Tonight we ran intervals, 4 x 1200m at our training pace that is based on our 1 mile time-trials from last week. We had 3 minutes rest between each interval.Surprisingly, the intervals got easier for me as I did them. The first was hard, and I ended up pushing myself faster than my training pace. The goal for the group was a ride from Torrey Pines Golf course at the top of the Torrey Pines mesa to Carlsbad along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), about 32 miles or so, round trip.
